Beginning on Tuesday, November 7, Fr. Joel will offer a Tuesday evening adult faith formation program entitled "Actual Participation: Worship and Sacraments in the Life of the Church." The series will be offered over 14 sessions and will primarily focus on teaching about the true nature of worship and how we partake of God's divine life through the sacraments of the Church. As the Second Vatican Council promoted and called for "fully conscious and active participation" of the faithful in worshiping, each session promises to explore the nature of participation within each of the Church's sacraments, and how this participation is most effectively lived. In addition to these basic teachings about worship and each sacrament, the series will also include sessions devoted to the topics of music in worship, the spaces where we worship, and how such practices as the use of sacramental and devotional prayer aid us in worshiping.
Mark your calendars for the first session which is to be offered on Tuesday, November 7, beginning at 6:30 PM at St. Francis in the social hall. Fr. Joel is planning on offering these session over livestream video on the Internet. Stay tuned for more information on that here on the parish website, in the bulletin, and via Flocknote.
